A rapid professional accountancy journey places the Dubai-raised Indian-origin teenager in the spotlight, with business and AI projects now part of his work.

An Early Achievement in Accountancy

Ayaan Mandelia, a 15-year-old born and raised in Dubai, has been recognised by Guinness World Records under the title “Youngest chartered accountant (male)”. The record is dated 13 July 2026, when he was 15 years and three days old. The Indian-origin teenager also completed the ACCA examination pathway and attained ACCA Affiliate status, marking an exceptionally early entry into professional accountancy.

The distinction is notable both for the age involved and for the route he followed. Mandelia pursued a professional qualification at a stage when his contemporaries were largely occupied with school examinations. Although he is an ACCA Affiliate, full ACCA membership remains a separate step requiring qualifying practical experience and completion of the remaining professional requirements.

From Curiosity to ACCA

Mandelia began ACCA studies in November 2024 and completed the 13-examination pathway in July 2026. He passed all four Strategic Professional examinations on his first attempt, earning 80% in Advanced Financial Management and 75% in Strategic Business Leader.

His interest in finance grew from questions about how businesses make decisions. Rather than seeing accounting as a set of rules alone, he became interested in the way financial information influences investment choices, operations and long-term strategy. The breadth of the ACCA syllabus allowed him to explore these topics through a structured examination programme.

Mandelia’s education did not follow the usual timetable. After attending Jumeirah College, he chose to leave the conventional school route during Year 10 and concentrate on independent study, professional examinations and practical exposure. He views this as a different educational pathway, not a claim that traditional schooling is unsuitable for others. The experience required self-management and consistent preparation over a compressed period.

The Recognition and What It Means

Guinness World Records lists Mandelia’s achievement in the “Youngest chartered accountant (male)” category. The record title should not be confused with a separate Guinness category for youngest ACCA Affiliate. His ACCA Affiliate status is based on completing the examination requirements, and the two achievements together form the centre of his story.

Mandelia sees the recognition as a starting point. He hopes to build on the technical knowledge acquired through the examinations and learn how experienced professionals assess competing priorities in real organisations. The next phase will involve accumulating practical experience and continuing to develop commercial judgement.

Business Exposure in Dubai

Since September 2024, Mandelia has been involved with AANKA Group, the Dubai-based family business led by his parents, Priyanka Agarwal Mandelia and Aanand Mandelia, both Chartered Accountants. Operating across food and beverage, beauty and wellness, interiors and construction, the group has approximately 17 locations and 400

employees. His work includes business strategy, digital systems and AI transformation initiatives.

Working across business functions has given him a closer look at the connection between finance, operations and technology. He has been involved in digital systems and process-improvement initiatives, which complement his studies by showing where information becomes difficult to organise or verify. He is especially interested in reducing repetitive work while retaining clear accountability for decisions.

An Interest in Building Systems

One project, PeopleOS, is an internal workforce-operations system covering employee records, attendance and administrative workflows; its records have included 316 employees. Another, the ACCA Performance Engine, is a software-based examination assessment and feedback project using structured marking logic and validation tests. Both reflect an interest in designing tools whose outputs can be checked rather than accepted unquestioningly.

These projects are exploratory and practical in nature. PeopleOS focuses on organising workforce information and administrative processes, while the ACCA Performance Engine explores structured evaluation of exam-style answers. Neither is intended to imply that automated outputs should be trusted without review. Mandelia regards testing and human judgement as essential to building reliable tools.

The projects also show the breadth of his interests beyond examination results. Finance provides a framework for understanding organisations, while software offers a way to experiment with better processes. His longer-term ambition is to bring those two areas together in work that has measurable practical value.

The Next Chapter

“Completing ACCA at 15 was never just about finishing examinations early. I wanted to understand how businesses work and how financial knowledge can be applied to real decisions. The Guinness World Record is an important milestone, but it is also the beginning of what I hope to build.”

For now, Mandelia is focused on progressing from ACCA Affiliate towards membership requirements, learning from operational work and continuing to develop technology projects. His Guinness World Records achievement marks an unusual moment in a young career, but he expects the more demanding work to come through experience, responsibility and continued learning.
